O RATIFIKACIJI SPORAZUMA MED REPUBLIKO SLOVENIJO IN REPUBLIKO ARMENIJO O VZPOSTAVITVI DIPLOMATSKIH ODNOSOV

1. člen

Ratificira se Sporazum med Republiko Slovenijo in Republiko Armenijo o vzpostavitvi diplomatskih odnosov, sklenjen z izmenjavo not dne 27. junija in 12. julija 1994.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and has the honour to inform that on June 21, 1994, guided by the principles of equality, friendship and peaceful co-existence, respecting the right of nations for self-determination, the Republic of Armenia has decided to recognize the Republic of Slovenia as an independent and sovereign state and to establish diplomatic relations with the Government of the Republic of Slovenia in accordance with the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations of 1961 and to exchange Ambassadors.

The Ministry expresses its confidence that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Slovenia, as well as development of the relations between the two countries on the basis of the observance of purposes and principles of the UN Charter, answer the interests of both countries and will contribute to the international cooperation and Universal peace and security.

The Ministry has the honour to propose that this Note and the response Note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia constitute the basis for the formal establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia the assurances of its highest consideration.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and has the honour to acknowledge the receipt of the note No. 7/2949 of June 27, 1994, which reads as follows:

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and has the honour to inform that on June 21, 1994, guided by the principles of equality, friendship and peaceful coexistence, respecting the right of nations for self-determination, the Republic of Armenia has decided to recognize the Republic of Slovenia as an independent and sovereign state and to establish diplomatic relations with the Government of the Republic of Slovenia in accordance with the Vienna Convention on diplomatic realtions of 1961 and to exchange Ambassadors.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia has the honour to convey to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia the full consent of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia to the agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Ministry suggests that the date of this note be considered the date of establishment of diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia the assurances of its highest consideration.
