Zakon o ratifikaciji Sporazuma med Vlado Republike Slovenije in Vlado Republike Estonije o sodelovanju v izobraževanju, kulturi in znanosti

Sporazum se v izvirniku v slovenskem in angleškem jeziku glasi:

AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ESTONIA ON COOPERATION IN EDUCATION, CULTURE AND SCIENCE

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the Republic of Estonia, hereinafter referred to as "the Contracting Parties",

desiring to promote cooperation in the fields of education, culture and science,

being convinced that the Agreement will contribute to a better understanding and will enhance the multilevel mutual relations between the Contracting Parties,

resolved to respect the principles of the Helsinki Final Act on Security and Cooperation in Europe,

have agreed as follows:

Article 1

The Contracting Parties shall develop mutual cooperation in the fields of education, culture and science, and shall promote direct cooperation and contacts between universities, other educational, scientific, research and cultural institutions and organisations.

The Contracting Parties shall support the exchange of university professors, students, scientists, experts and artists.

Article 2

Each Contracting Party, within the scope of its means, shall provide the opportunity for applicants of the Contracting Party for study and specialised training in its universities and other educational, scientific, research and cultural institutions and organisations.

Article 3

The Contracting Parties shall study possibilities for reciprocal recognition of certificate, university diplomas and academic titles, and shall sign a special agreement to this effect.

Article 4

The Contracting Parties shall endeavour to acquire better knowledge of the other Contracting Party's culture, and shall support cultural contacts and events in all forms.

Article 5

The Contracting Parties shall inform each other of possibilities for learning the language of the other Contracting Party, and shall support the participation of representatives of the other Contracting Party in summer language courses.

Article 6

The Contracting Parties shall facilitate the exchange of information on measures to protect cultural and natural national heritage.

Article 7

The Contracting Parties shall encourage contacts between young people and direct cooperation between youth organisations of the two countries.

Article 8

The Contracting Parties shall encourage cooperation between sports organisations of the two countries, and participation in sports events in each other's country.

Article 9

All activities covered by this Agreement shall comply with the laws and regulations in force in the State of the Contracting Party in which they take place.

Each Contracting Party shall grant to the other Contracting Party, within the limits of its legislation and capabilities, all possible facilities for the entry of persons and for the import of material and equipment necessary to carry out programmes or exchanges in the fields covered by this Agreement.

Article 10

The Contracting Parties shall promote active cooperation within UNESCO and other international organisations in the fields of education, culture and science.

Article 11

Representatives of the Contracting Parties shall, whenever necessary or at the request of either Contracting Party, meet as a Mixed Commission to review developments relating to this Agreement.

Article 12

This Agreement shall be accepted according to the law of each of the Contracting Parties and shall enter into force upon the exchange of notes.

It shall take effect on the day of receiving the posterior note.

This Agreement shall remain in force for the period of five years and shall be automatically renewed for the same period each time, unless either Contracting Party notifies the other Contracting Party in writing of its intention to terminate the present Agreement at least six months prior to it expiry.

Done at Ljubljana on 5th november 1993 in two authentic copies in Slovene, Estonian and English languages, all texts having equal power. In the event of different interpretation, the English text shall prevail.
