Mediation and other alternative dispute resolution
mechanisms (hereinafter: ADR mechanisms) are more
and more frequently used among parties to the disputes,
therefore it is no surprise that practice welcomes
the new Mediation Rules of the Ljubljana Arbitration
Centre at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry
of Slovenia (the “Ljubljana Mediation Rules”) which
are currently being drafted and will enter into force
in 2015. Setting the scene and the broader context
for engagement with issues related to mediation, this
contribution aims to provide an overview of the legal
landscape for mediation in Slovenia, focusing on the
aspect of the “hard law”.
