Mednarodna znanstvena konferenca Odgovornost zaščititi v teoriji in praksi (Responsibility to Protect in Theory and Practice), ki je potekala 11. in 12. maja 2023 na Pravni fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani, je obeležila desetletje od začetka niza bienalnih mednarodnih interdisciplinarnih znanstvenih konferenc o načelu R2P na Pravni fakulteti, ki v razpravi združuje teoretike, raziskovalce in praktike različnih področij, pomembnih za uresničevanje R2P, z vseh koncev sveta. Potekala je pod častnim pokroviteljstvom predsednice Republike Slovenije Nataše Pirc Musar, ki je v uvodnem nagovoru izrazila odločno podporo Republike Slovenije odgovornosti zaščiti in poudarila, da spodbujanje in varstvo človekovih pravic presegata državne meje. Te konference R2P tako odločilno pripomorejo k umeščanju Slovenije med vodilne podpornice aktivnosti, ki prispevajo k zaščiti prebivalstva pred genocidom, vojnimi hudodelstvi, hudodelstvi zoper človečnost in etničnim čiščenjem.

The international scientific conference Responsibility to Protect in Theory and Practice, held on 11 and 12 May 2023 at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana, marked the tenth anniversary of the launch of the series of biennial international interdisciplinary scientific conferences on the principle of R2P at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana, which brings together theoreticians, researchers and practitioners from various fields relevant to the implementation of R2P from all over the world. It was held under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, who in her opening address expressed the strong support of the Republic of Slovenia to R2P and stressed that the promotion and protection of human rights transcends national borders. These R2P conferences have made a significant contribution to positioning Slovenia as a leading supporter of activities that help protect populations from genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing.
