Daniel Greineder is a Partner at Peter & Partners, a specialist international arbitration practice in Geneva, and has practised in Geneva and London. He has represented parties to institutional and ad hoc arbitrations as well as to contractual price reviews and mediations, with particular emphasis on JV, energy sector and construction disputes. Daniel Greineder has often worked with lawyers from different common and civil law backgrounds and many of his cases involve the application of foreign law. - Konstantin Christie is a Senior Associate at Peter & Partners. For the past 10 years, his practice focused on international commercial and investment arbitration, as well as disputes under public international law. His clients often come from the oil, gas and electricity sectors, as well as heavy industry. A native Russian speaker, he often handles cases from Eastern Europe, Russia and CIS, especially arising from JVs and profit sharing agreements, governed by Swiss and foreign laws.

Doing business internationally involves many forms of cooperation between different parties, which may loosely be described as joint ventures (“JVs”). This article explores the types of disputes that may arise among joint venture partners and makes some practical proposals for initiating and managing them in international arbitration.
