POVZETEK
Visokošolski pedagoški delavec ima specifičen položaj po Zakonu o visokem šolstvu (ZViS-1). Prispevek obravnava obveznost nadomeščanja odpadlih pedagoških ur ob upravičeni kratkotrajni bolniški odsotnosti in negi otroka. V praksi se uveljavlja samonadomeščanje brez ustrezne kompenzacije, medtem ko delodajalec ustvarja prihranke. Ekonomska analiza kaže na potrebo po pravičnejši in bolj življenjski ureditvi, ki upošteva posebnosti visokošolskega poklica in visokošolskih organizacij. Problematika je kompleksna in zahteva presojo z več vidikov, k čemur pozivamo raziskovalce in praktike.
SUMMARY
Higher education academic staff (with teaching responsibilities) hold a specific status under the Slovenian Higher Education Act (ZViS-1). This article examines the substitution of missed pedagogical hours during authorised short-term sick leave and childcare leave. In practice, self-substitution is common and uncompensated, while employers create savings. An economic analysis suggests the need for a fairer and more practical arrangement that reflects the unique characteristics of the higher-education profession and its institutions. The issue is complex and requires assessment from multiple perspectives, which we call upon researchers and practitioners to undertake.
